In 2012, Ricardo Valvede (a third generation coffee grower) and a group of producers had major issues due to coffee leaf rust and low prices of the C-Market. Together they managed to gather enough capital to buy a small coffee mill and they now currently mill a total of 500 bags with 75 bags coming from the Cerro Dragon farm. The Palmichal micro-mill has a privileged geographical location- nestled on the fringe of both the Costa Rican Central Valley and the Tarrazu region- which enables them to choose the best farms from both of these renowned regions.
