Mustefa Abakeno, is an insightful and dedicated smallholder farmer. His farm is a testament to the rich coffee heritage of Ethiopia, featuring a diverse array of coffee varieties sourced from the esteemed Jimma research centre. Mustefa’s coffee processing methods artfully blend tradition and innovation to create exceptional coffee beans which is why we have sourced coffee from him for several years now. This is one such coffee.
Where is it grown and Farmed?
In the picturesque Jimma Zone of Western Ethiopia, where he manages an extensive 18-hectare farm located at an impressive elevation of 2,040 metres above sea level.
How has the coffee been processed?
Fully washed after a slightly exetnded fermentation stage to enhance the inherent sweetness.
What can you expect from the smell and taste?
There are classic Ethiopian flavours of peach, elderflower, lime and black tea, but there is also a milk chocolate creaminess and a vanilla sweetness.
How do we like it?
This coffee is best brewed using cone drip brewed filter coffee methods or as a cafetiere.
