Mexico La Yerba,Terruño Nayarita

£12.50 - £21

Terruño Nayarita (meaning "from my land") is a true community affair, spanning a committed group of over 260 cooperative smallholder growers. Located on the fertile volcanic slopes of the Cerro San Juan in Mexico's Nayarit State, these families cultivate exceptional specialty coffees at 956 to 1,150 metres above sea level. Their fields host traditional, high-quality arabica varieties—including Bourbon, Caturra, Catuai, and Mundo Novo—grown sustainably alongside avocado crops to preserve the local seasonal ecosystem.

The La Yerba microlot is managed collectively under an umbrella organization called "Integradora," which ensures traceability and fair returns for local families. The cooperative places a heavy emphasis on meticulous cultivation, strict quality control, and traditional hand-sorting techniques.

This traditional natural processing style creates an incredibly complex specialty coffee with a smooth, velvety body and a beautifully balanced cup.

Description

A naturally processed Mexican coffee cultivated by smallholder farmers in the La Yerba community on the volcanic slopes of the San Juan Volcano in Nayarit. Drying the whole cherries on traditional patios creates concentrated, candied sweetness, pronounced fruit character and a fuller texture. Best prepared as a pour-over or V60 to highlight its clean and nuanced sweetness.

What our customers think...

Great experience buying coffee here. Really helpful and personal experience, even when just buying home quantities.

Very good quality beans, lovely staff and got a little tour of the roastery while I was there. Highly recommend!

Just received this coffee (Guatemala La Nueva Era) through the post and have to say it tastes amazing! Highly recommend.

I tried several roasters but the one that came through streaks ahead of all the others was Coffee Central. The service is as good as if I was their best customer.
